Hopeless days seem never ending. And there is one day or just a moment that gives you hope. Amid enfolding anguish, one has to strain his eyes away to find that little ray of light.Only a section of these determined rays, one hopes will eventually blast a sunshine sized hole through that cloud of pain and despair. Among reports of rapes every day, comes a story of 5 year old girl that would leave you with tears and the mass outrage of people that are the agents of hopes and hence involved in protesting the streets up for the justice and demanding change from the system.
"The Rape Culture" is getting worsen with every day, every hour and every minute in country and what it follows is a bad image among the people living in the same country and worldwide where people questions the integrity of country with such a rich history and traditions. In my view, it is totally ethical and fair to do the same. When the women in the country are not safe, it has nothing to do with the history and stuff. What the dark truth is that people over here aren't civilized enough to respect the opposite sex which are equal in every possible way.In recent years, with context to the increasing statistics and the brutality of crime the society is actually seen growing be called as sickened society.
Mass aggression by people on social sites, TV Channels, newspapers, blogs and majorly on the streets is something supportive in favour of humanity and country. It gives ray of hope that where on the one end are the devils of society busy staining humanity, on the other lies an enlightened society who no longer in a state seeing women being suffered, threatened, oppressed, tortured or feared in any way.The 'latter' category belongs to society of civilized people where 'former' are the cockroaches who need to be brushed aside from the society maybe through capital punishments. In a democratic country, as we say there are governing bodies elected through citizen voting who in turn takes a charge maintaining law and order along with judiciary and police authorities. But these incidents are a slap on the face of World's biggest Democracy that in turn we are not capable for running our own country peacefully.Even after 16th Dec gang rape incident, whole of the country was dumbstruck to what happened and the way it happened! It was horrific yet inhumanly torturous. Then we at that moment felt for it and protested till we could forcefully with full determination and anguish on our mind that we just can't withstand such act of violence in the country.Four months passed to it but still situation remained unchanged and the recent case to 5 year old girl clearly points to the failure of system and failure of police security.
The media intervention, 24*7 news coverage, banner headlines, facebook posts updates, debates, discussions remain on the peek for a while gaining enough attention for the people to wake up and ponder upon it.In the process, even such people exist who believe to condole rather than stop and knock it out which even includes the Government who are satisfied with their mournful statements. But what follows is the same incident again. It is shocking when the news breaks out that even on the day of protest, 3 girls were raped in the same city. It states that somewhere in the city where people cries their heart out, there remain an insane set of people who does not believe to be bothered at all. There are people who gets agitated over it and further lights up candles and walk towards the streets asking for change and rather fighting(apt. word) for change from lawful authorities. Days passes, weeks passes and even month passes people keep protesting in a hope that someday the candle they hold would enlighten the darkened minds with a sense of responsibility and accountability and not that they would be inserting it into someone's private parts.Pray, Fight, Cry, Hope, Protest, Agitate is all we could do in order to make a better world rather than vote which we saw hardly makes any difference in our very own democracy. Women's safety is a concern today not for living but for survival. Fearful and horrifying eyes could be found anywhere in metros, cities, subways, roads and in any corner of country who tries to make sure she gets away safely from the stalkers or eve-teasers.Being part of the same society, it makes me feel ridiculously worried about the state of the opposite sex, about their survival, about their safety.
Does one really needs to be 'Superman' to escape away the adversities of such sort rather than being a man by not putting them into such situations only. The rapists rape anyone regardless of their age, what they are wearing, what they are up to or where they have been to and numerous things. And at this point, victim just can't be at fault in any way. Its always the torture and the inhuman being who snatches away the right to live from the soul of an innocent being.
" Should we treat women as independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible and independent has nothing to do with being raped. Women don’t get raped because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get raped because they were not careful enough. Women get raped because someone raped them.”
